Palliative Care Helps Improve Life Quality

INSPIRATION HOSPICE OFFERING BEST PALLIATIVE CARE TO PATIENTS WHEN THEY NEED IT THE MOST

The emotional and physical effects of the disease vary from person to person. Palliative care aims at addressing a broad range of medical problems while catering to the patient’s individual needs. The following issues are often taken into account for each patient receiving palliative care.

  • Common physical symptoms
  • Spiritual needs of the patient and his family
  • They provide resources to help patients cope up emotionally
  • Assistance with financial and legal problems

Palliative care is provided to a patient suffering from a life-threatening disease to help improve his life quality. It is an approach that addresses a person as a whole and not just caters to managing the disease. Specially trained health care practitioners offer palliative care.

The goal of palliative care nursing is to prevent or treat the symptoms and side effects of a medical problem as soon as possible. The palliative care specialists provide holistic care to the patient and his family focusing on physical, social, emotional and spiritual issues.

Medicare and Medicaid pay for some kind of palliative care and palliative medicine. All private health insurance usually cover palliative care services. However, if a patient does not have health insurance, they should check with the hospital’s counselor to learn more.

This is Why We Do What We Do

I need to update my review based on a very recent, very personal experience with Inspiration. My father in law was diagnosed with leukemia 6 weeks ago. They started by sending out an AMG provider Jenn Griswold and putting him on home health. They were so helpful. The entire team was great. Then, last week he took a turn for the worse and we made the decision to transition to hospice. Every single person from the patient liasons, Director of Nursing, nurses, music therapist, social worker, were life savers. Wendy, Jayme, Mike, Carrie, April, Julie, Keric, Jenn, thank you. Words can’t simply express how much your support has meant to our family. Bob’s death was truly beautiful because of all of you. We felt at peace, he was comfortable, and died surrounded by love, family, and the beautiful music of the harp. I can’t imagine what we would have done without all of you. ❤️

Inspiration Hospice took such great care of my dad during the last few days of his life, that I knew when it was time for Mother, I would of course use them again. In hindsight, I wish I had not waited so long. The caring help they provided her was heaven sent. From the nurses, to the social worker, the chaplain and the aides, we felt supported and even more importantly, my mother was comforted. When a nurse will sit and talk with you for three hours, holding your hand or rubbing lotion on your feet, that is genuine caring. Once she started into the active dying process, they were only a call away. Several kind people came to make sure the facility knew what to do to follow through and keep her comfortable. She had the most peaceful passing. I will forever be grateful to Inspiration!

I can not even begin to express how appreciative my family is for the care Inspiration gave my loved one!! We didn’t want to go hospice but I discovered we should’ve done this earlier. That is my biggest regret!
The volunteers and staff are so loving and caring and supported us the whole way. Thank you Thank you
